Lip augmentation surgery adds volume to the lips or shows more of the pink lip using your own fat, a small tissue graft or a lift of the lip. The result lasts far longer than an injection.
Lip filler, by comparison, is a gel that usually lasts 6 to 12 months before it needs repeating.
Some people are born with a narrow pink lip, especially the upper lip. Lipstick and lip liner help for a day, but the lip itself stays flat in photos and in profile.

You go home the same day. The lips look much fuller than the final result at first, because of swelling and the extra fat that is planned.
